Being green is serious business at Ploughshares!
Our organic growing methods include using a certified organic soil mix from Wheeler Zamaroni and organic fertilizers from EB Stone and GreenAll. Disease and pest control is done by using certified organic control methods including NEEM oil, Safers soaps, and hot pepper oil. We cultivate an ecosystem for natural pest predators.
We use re-use pots and accept donations of yard waste (concrete, lumber, pots, plants).
We do as much construction as possible out of used and nursery grown materials. We mulch with tree trimmings from local tree companies.
